Wallpapers
• Check that the rolls conform to the order, that all rolls are undamaged,
and have the same batch number.
• Choose an SLB-approved adhesive (see front page).
• The substrate, adhesive, and wallpaper should be at normal room temperature, about 18 degrees Celsius.
• The substrate should be dry, clean, and free from dust and old loose wallpaper. Glossy surfaces should be sanded. Painted surfaces should be washed with soda and rinsed thoroughly with clean water. Highly absorbent substrates should be pre-glued or primed. Priming should be done when there are significant color differences in the substrate, for example, at filled joints on a dark background.
• When hanging dark wallpaper, the best result is achieved if the walls are primed with a primer tinted to the same shade as the wallpaper.
• Non-woven wallpaper should be hung as follows:
By rolling the adhesive directly onto the wall and then hanging the wallpaper strips on the wall.
A pasting machine can also be used, but in that case, each strip must be applied immediately.
Normally, wall-pasting gives the best result and reveals hidden bubbles, which must be removed. Any bubbles must be worked out with a suitable wallpaper tool.
• The strips are butted against each other. Use a wallpaper brush and smooth the strip from the center outwards. If paste gets on the front, immediately remove it with clean water and a clean cloth, it is important to wipe the entire strip at that time.
• After installing 2-3 strips, the result should be checked to detect any color differences or other defects.
• Gaps in seams, raised edges, or blistering are not due to wallpaper defects but are related to the substrate, amount of adhesive, and installation.
• When cleaning the wallpaper, use a sponge and water.
• Note! Never close off a newly wallpapered room; instead, ventilate and maintain normal room temperature.
• If in doubt about the material or installation, stop immediately and contact the retailer. In the event of a complaint, the roll label must be included.
Then all that's left is to enjoy your newly wallpapered room.
